Notes from the artist: I was born in Cape Town and grew up in Paarl, South Africa. Paarl being a cultural breeding ground, I immediately proceeded to fall into the abyss of art. Growing up (in my teen years) next to the Catholic church, inspired the Maria and Jesus themes whereas the pop-art checkered theme might represent God, if not, then the God within us all. Other themes, such as melting fingers, will more indicate the fragility and pain in life.  I focus on a detailed finish although some of the paintings are relatively large. Who am I?

My name is Jacques and I'm the older brother of this fantastic artist. I  have been trying to help him get more exposure but we all know it's a slow process. I think he's art speaks for itself and now that we have the internet part starting it might helps things grow faster quicker. Eugene lives in the wine district of South Africa in a town called Paarl. Currently he works full time and paints when he can. I can just imagine what he could do if he could live off his paintings.
